Welcome to the new Eastmed Doctors newsletter. We hope you enjoy receiving these updates directly to your email account. Rest assured; we will also continue to update our website www.eastmed.co.nz with important information as required.
Are you on MyIndici?
MyIndici is an online Eastmed Doctors patient portal that allows you to:
- Manage appointments
- Request prescriptions for repeat medications
- See test results (once the doctor has viewed and filed them)
- Check immunisation dates
- See reminders for when your wellness checks are due (screening checks)
- Manage your accounts (coming soon, payments on MyIndici portal)

If you aren’t already on MyIndici, please email reception@eastmed.co.nz and ask to be added. Please include your full name and date of birth in this request.
We’ll then send you an email with instructions to set-up and activate your access. If you are using a desktop computer, remember to save the website as a favourite on your browser. If you are using a mobile device or phone, you’ll be prompted to install the app, please check that you are installing MyIndici 2.0 version.
Flu vaccines 2024
From 2 April, the Influvac Tetra flu vaccine is free and available for those who are most vulnerable to becoming very sick if they get the flu. The vaccine is funded for everyone 65 years old and over, as well as for people under 65 who meet the following criteria:
- Have long-term conditions (like asthma, diabetes or cardiovascular disease)
- Have reduced immune function
- Are pregnant
- Have specific mental health conditions or addiction issues
- Children who are 4 years old and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness or have a history of significant respiratory illness.
For patients that do not meet the above criteria, the cost is $35.
You can book your flu vaccine using MyIndici, the online patient portal.
Simply login to MyIndici and click on appointments.
Leave the reason for appointment and reason notes blank.
Appointment type is Face to Face.
Change book with to Nurse (use the drop-down arrow),
And change Select GP to Flu NURSE (use the drop-down arrow)
Remember, flu vaccines start on 2 April. From that date, click on a date that suits you, all available appointments will show. This is how your screen should look.
Click on a time that suits, answers the COVID questions and click OK.
A confirm appointment box will show, click OK.
You will receive a pop-up notification to confirm your booking.
You can also check upcoming appointment to view any other appointments, this is also where you can cancel appointments.
Covid Vaccines
The new covid vaccine Omicron XBB. 1.5 is available to patients who are 30 years and older. It needs to be given six months from your last covid vaccine or covid infection. Feel free to ask the nurses about this when you are having your flu vaccine.
Eastmed open for enrolments
If you have any family or friends who are looking for a General Practitioner, we are accepting new patients. Our team is happy to help new patients through the process by calling or visiting the practice during normal opening hours, or they can visit our website to enrol www.eastmed.co.nz
