Spring has sprung and it’s great to be welcoming the change of seasonIn this update, we’ve provided important information from the practice regarding prepaid prescriptions as well as an update to our fees.

Prepaid prescriptions now online
Starting Monday, 09 September 2024, when you use the MyIndici patient portal to request repeat prescriptions, you will be required to pay in advance.

Why the change?
Paying in advance makes the process quicker and easier for you. By completing everything in one step, there’s no need to log into your bank account separately to make a payment. Plus, you won’t receive phone calls, text reminders, or emails from our staff if a payment is missed.
To order your repeat prescription:
· Log in to your MyIndici account, and open the Medications section
· Go to the ‘Long-Term’ tab, select the medication(s) you need and click ‘Repeat Medication(s)’ (see screenshot below).

· Choose how you want to collect your prescription: from the practice or directly from a pharmacy. Top tip: you can set your chosen pharmacy as your preferred pharmacy for future requests.
· If you need to provide any additional information with your request, simply type it into the ‘Additional Information’ field.
· Under the ‘Amount to Pay’ section, you will see the cost of the repeat prescription fee. If your account balance is zero (not in debit or credit), this is the only fee you will need to pay.

· Click on ‘Proceed to Payment’ and then click ‘Proceed’ on the confirmation message. This will take you to the EastMed Doctors Windcave payment screen, where you can complete the payment using a credit or debit card.
· After paying, you can view your submitted request by clicking on ‘Rx Request’.
· You will receive a text message as usual when your prescription has been processed.
If your account is in credit or debit, the process will differ slightly. However, it should be intuitive to follow, a more detailed guide is available on our website and is linked below.
If you encounter any issues, please call our Practice Manager, Angela Patel, who will guide you through the process. If you experience financial difficulties or need help navigating the MyIndici portal, you can always contact our reception team for assistance with your request.

Notification of Fee Increase
On the 1st of August 2024, we reviewed our costs, and this has unfortunately resulted in a price increase for most of the services we provide. These changes will take effect Monday, 09 September 2024. This increase is due to the widening gap between government funding and the actual cost of providing services to our community.
We value you as our patient at Eastmed Doctors and we look forward to continuing to provide you with the best possible healthcare services. The new updated fees are indicated below and on our website here.

Under 14’s – $0
14-17 – $60
18-24 – $65
25-64 – $80
65+ – $80

Patient portal, MyIndici
If you aren’t already on MyIndici, please email reception@eastmed.co.nz and ask to be added. Please include your full name and date of birth in this request.
MyIndici is an online Eastmed Doctors patient portal that allows you to:
· Manage appointments
· Request prescriptions for repeat medications
· See test results (once the doctor has viewed and filed them)
· Check immunisation dates
· See reminders for when your wellness checks are due (screening checks)
· Manage your accounts (you can now pay your Eastmed Doctors accounts and view receipts online). You will be redirected to the Eastmed Doctors Windcave payment page to input your payment details.
